KidSpeak 2016: Planting Seeds for a Greener Future

KidSpeak® is a free annual forum facilitated by the Mayor’s Youth Council, managed by Our Community’s Children, that gives young people in kindergarten through 12th-grade the opportunity to speak directly to legislators, community leaders, and school officials about issues of importance to them. KidSpeak® 2016: Planting Seeds for a Greener Grand Rapids was about how young people view green jobs and use green spaces such as parks, playgrounds, the river, meadows, creeks, etc. and its impact on how young people feel about their neighborhood, about themselves and about their future.
